Very temperamental though. I added DPF cleaner to the fuel tank and had no lights on for 3 weeks. Started the van 3 days ago and the lights were back.

I have a 2006 1.6 HDI. From time to time the red overheating symbol and "STOP" flashes up on the dash along with the beeping alarm. In my year's ownership (and c. 8000 miles) the engine has never overheated - if anything it runs on the cool side. Coolant is full and does not change.

1.5 diesel engine failure - Adampr. It's a development of the 1.6. The main cam drive is still belt, but they've (mostly) gone back to a 16v head, with the second cam being driven by a chain (same as the original 16V 1.6. the chain is the weak point, but both these and the 1.6s can shred the cam belt early.
Trouble is, a 4 year old Berlingo is almost certain to be a 1.6 HDi, in which case it's probably carnage - and getting the head off might be impossible as the injectors probably won't come out. I turned the ignition on and off and itrestored power. I manged to do this a few times to limp home last night. The engine management light is on so I took it to MR. Clutch this morning. They ran the diagnostic and it threw up fault code P113 indicating that the fual rail pressure sensor is picking up low pressure.
