VW Golf mark VI 1.6 TDi (2009, Diesel) - Which oil for top-up ? - skidpan : Assuming no oil at all in the reservoir, what is the maximum capacity (in litres) Seriously, if you have no oil in the sump you will need more than a top up, an engine re-build would be a better idea.

Dec 12, 2017. #1. Hi, My car has a 1.6 TDI Common Rail engine. It is slightly over 7 years old, and has done over 125,000 kms. I have had oil changes done at the dealership, using the VW recommended synthetic oil. However, the fuel quality around here is pathetic, requiring fuel filters to be changed every 15,000 kms.

The EGR fails from time to time you'd need to sell a kidney to repair it. DPF needs 20 mins driving at 60 MPH + in 4th gear once a month.

It's a great value @ $25 a gallon. You can also use 10w30 Diesel oil since the phoenix winters are mild. The oil pressure switch shorts the signal wire to ground when the pressure is OK. The wire goes to the cluster. There is a wire colour change at an intermediate connector but that's it. For the dealer's oil pressure test to mean anything in this case, they would have to take the measurement whilst the light was on and that isn't the standard
